A is for Art Hanger

Background:
After reading Amanda Soule’s Handmade  Home, (thehandmadehome.net) I was inspired to create the art hanger pictured below. I’ve found that it’s a simple and great way to create a space to display your child’s beautiful art work if the fridge is full.
Materials Needed:
Pre-made heavy weight curtain
Package of bias tape
Wooden dowel, light weight curtain hanger, or a stick from a tree
Ribbon
Nail
Scissors
Sewing machine
Clothes pins

Directions:
Cut the curtain to the length and width you desire. Pin bias tape across the curtain creating rows at least one foot wide. Sew the bias tape onto the curtain in the following manner:  sew two inches, then stop and skip two inches,  then sew two inches, etc., until you reach the end of the tape. Sew each row this way. The two inch spaces in between allow for the clothes pins to hang the art work.
Pull the dowel, curtain hanger, or stick
through the loops of the curtain.
Tie ribbon to the top of the dowel, hanger,
or stick to make a triangle. Then hang the
entire art hanger onto the wall.
