tablespoons scallions, chopped
2 garlic
cloves, minced

teaspoons olive oil
1 can
crushed tomatoes (28 ounces)
2 cups
chicken broth
1 cup
water
¼
teaspoon pepper
¾ cup
half and half

tablespoons fresh basil, minced (not dried)
2
teaspoons sugar
Directions
In a
large saucepan, sauté onion and garlic in oil until tender. Add the tomatoes,
broth, water, and pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer for 10 minutes.
Stir in the half and half, basil, and sugar. Cook for 1 minute or until heated
through (do not boil). 4-6 servings.
