The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board is excited
to partner with Conservation Corps Minnesota on a youth
employment program for the spring semester.
The Conservation Corps’ Youth Outdoors program connects Minneapolis teenagers to the natural environment through hands-on conservation, and empowers young people to become active, engaged citizens. The program is open to Minneapolis youth ages 15-18 who are at or below 80 percent of the City’s median income. During the 11-week program (March to June), youth will work 12 hours/week and earn $7.25/hour.
Teens who are enthusiastic about working outdoors are encouraged to apply. Program participants will gain work experience, environmental education and personal development. Activities will include managing natural resources in parks, exploring science and the environment, and leading neighborhood volunteers to improve parks and restore the environment.
This opportunity is open to 36 youth, so space is limited. Six youth will be based out of each of the following locations:
