S is for Straw Bale Gardening

Yesterday I set up 10 bales of straw for my first ever straw bale garden thanks to local landscaper and pictured gardener extraordinaire Kate Clarity at Walnuts n Pears!  She had a local farmer deliver 120 bales of straw her home yesterday and let us local urban gardeners in on the action.  Can't wait to see how this turns out.  For more information on Straw Bale Gardening check out this KARE 11 feature about Joel Karsten and his book.  I'll keep you updated on our little garden through the summer.
